What We Do.

Functional Capacity Assessments

Your Occupational Therapist will complete an assessment for you, that will identify how your disability impacts your day-to-day life, and what supports and services can be applied to enhance your daily life.

You will be provided with a comprehensive report at the completion of this assessment.

Sensory Profile Assessment & Sensory Modulation

An assessment is completed by your Occupational Therapist that will measure an individuals sensory processing patterns and effects of functional performance.

We can then use this information to help guide sensory modulation recommendations.

Independent Living Skills Training

Depending on your personal goals, your Occupational Therapist can assist you to learn or relearn essential skills needed for independent living such as cooking, shopping cleaning, self care, developing a meaningful daily routine, making and keeping appointments.

Emotional Regulation training

Your Occupational Therapist can work with you to identify, address and use strategies to achieve emotional regulation and better self awareness.

This includes stress & anger management as well as relaxation & mindfulness.

Social and Communication Skills Training

Work with your Occupational Therapist to develop the skills needed to navigate a variety of social situations and communicate effectively with others.

Targeted Psychological Interventions

To help achieve your goals your Occupational Therapist can use or draw upon focused psychological strategies such as

Fees:

Individual Therapy:

60 minute consultation = $195

30 minute consultation = $105

NDIS Participants

Will be invoiced at the hourly rate of $193.99 as outlined by the NDIS for Occupational Therapy Services.

Private Health Cover

Check with your individual private health fund to see if you have ‘Extras’ cover for Occupational Therapy. The fund may reimburse a certain amount of your OT fee.

Medicare rebates:

The Chronic Disease Management program is designed to support people with chronic conditions and complex care needs, who are being managed by a GP or medical practitioner and require additional allied health services. Individuals can access five sessions in total per calendar.

Emily Kane is an experienced Occupational Therapist who has worked in the mental health sector for more than 15 years. She has worked with a diverse range of people with different cultural backgrounds, diagnoses and psychosocial situations.

Primarily Emily has worked with people aged 16-65 years old & her background is in community mental health (seeing people at home, rather than in hospital).

Emily works within a recovery framework and develops individual treatment plans with you because they are for you. It is essential that your therapy focuses on what is most meaningful to you and that your needs, strengths and challenges are carefully considered.

Outside of work Emily is a mum of 2 young children, and prefers to spend her spare time outside running, playing golf or reading in the sunshine.
